Powerbar Webinar – Old Problems, New Solutions (?) | Dr. Noam E. Protter

CLASS II CORRECTION IN CONTEMPORARY ORTHODONTICS – MAKING AN EVIDENCED BASED DECISION.

Class II malocclusion is a major reason that patients seek orthodontic treatment.
Combinations of dental and skeletal factors ranging from mild to severe provide the
multiple characters of this discrepancy. Class II malocclusion can be treated using a
wide variety of appliances and techniques – removable, fixed, intramaxillary, and
intermaxillary Class II correctors exist. Removable Class II correctors are associated
with a significant negative impact on quality of life and a significantly higher rate of
treatment discontinuation, most likely because of lack of compliance. Fixed Class II
correctors are associated with high rates of complications and the need for further
emergency visits which may impact overall success rates.
In our webinar, I will try to help you find the best solution for you and your patients,
share what works best for me and present a new, yet familiar, alternative by American
Orthodontics.
